Some links are to videos that correspond to content we have discussed in class, or to slide presentations from other teachers that I thought could help, to our own class presentations. Keep in mind that viewing video presentations about book content is great and very helpful (and even advised), but don't make the mistake of simply relying on that method for success. |

UNIT THREE: Biological bases for Behavior (combined with Unit Four)
- Anatomy of a Neuron: use this to practice identifying the parts of the neuron. Make sure you know the function of each part, too.
- "Interior" Brain Diagram: like with the document above, use this to practice and practice, and make sure you know the function of each part as well. That's essential.
- Cortical Brain Structure Diagram: this diagram shows you the "exterior" of the brain. Practice identification and know the function of each part.
- Human Brain Anatomy video. It's even "3-Dish!"
- Video of PowerPoint that relates to things in Unit Three (but, no sound, just the PowerPoint)
- Neurotransmitters and Cookies: this animation demonstrates the action of neurotransmitters through the desire to have a cookie!

- This outing with Hank Green is all about Sensation and Perception
- Take a look at this interesting video in which Hank talks about the "Homonculus"

- For the anatomy of how we taste and smell, watch Hank talk about, well "Taste and Smell"
- Hearing and Balance is the subject of this vid by Hank. (Was assigned for homework.)
- How humans see is not an optical illusion in Hanks version of "Vision." (Was assigned as homework.)
- Unit Four, Part One video. In this video, these students of AP Psych explain information that is contained in our book. Good way to review for tests in a general way.

Unit Five: States of consciousness
Crash Course Vids:
- Hank Green talks all about Consciousness in this cleverly named CC Video. (Assigned for HW)
- While he's at it, he talks about Sleep as a state of consciousness in this video, which is also a "dream!" (Assigned for HW)
- Hank also speaks about a more sinister subject, states which are altered, or Altered States, (assigned for HW)
- Not surprisingly, we can find our hero Hank Green in yet another video series. This episode has to do with Biological/Circadian Rhythms.
- Discovery News has an interesting clip about why people have nightmares.
- This Discovery News clip has to do with Sleep Paralysis.
- How Much Sleep Do You Need? I'm not asking...that's just the title of the video.
- Sleep Deprivation can cause some wacky things, as is seen here in the experiment conducted by Peter Tripp.
